BROKEN SENTINEL IS ALMOST HERE

It feels odd, crafting this post when I'm certain no one knows who I am or that this corner of the internet even exists. So maybe I'll just shout into the abyss and hope that someday it shouts back! Such is the writer's existence.

Tomorrow marks the release of Broken Sentinel. It feels unreal. I penned this story ages ago—it bore a different title, featured slightly different characters, and was honestly quite rough around the edges (it might still be). After failing to find it a publisher, I tucked it away as life intervened.

Last year, when I decided to dive back into publishing, this book called to me. I couldn't stop thinking about how I'd left Zara and Trent hanging (and Vex—never could abandon my beloved Vex). This was before Silver Elite ever crossed my radar (that story seemed to materialize from thin air). I simply hoped that the public's growing appetite for romantasy might extend to sci-fi romance and dystopian fiction.

So I rewrote the book, then halfway through writing Rogue Element I got wind that dystopian might be making a come back. But make it spicy and adult.

PERFECT. I had thought. The world is finally ready.

Then...the election happened and the world went to shit and I thought well, there is no way anyone will want to read about a dystopian hellscape when we are living one right now. I had about 40,000 words of Rogue Element left and I shelved that, along with Broken Sentinel. Decided to concentrate on writing other things.

But then. Then. Then I heard Book of the Month was doing Silver Elite as one of their books. A spicy adult dystopian? That meant there had to be an audience for it if this book box was doing it. Maybe the world still wanted to be distracted with another type of dystopian. After all horror was also on the rise.

I decided to publish Broken Sentinel. I decided to finish Rogue Element (almost done!).

It's a risk but I'd rather have books that flop than books that keep remaining on my harddrive for no one to ever see.

Hopefully readers will find something to love in the Splinter Faction series, something to resonate within them. If you do end up reading and loving it, please tell your friends.

And thank you for taking a chance!
